DISASSEMBLY
1. INSPECT FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
2. INSPECT UNIVERSAL JOINT SPIDER BEARING
3. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINT SPIDER
|
(a) Place matchmarks on the universal joint flange yoke and propeller shaft's universal joint flange yoke. |
|
(b) Using a brass bar and hammer, slightly tap in the universal joint spider bearing. |
(c) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 4 hole snap rings from the grooves.

(d) Using SST, push out the universal joint spider bearing from the shaft's universal joint flange yoke. SST: 09332-25010 HINT:
Before installing SST, sufficiently raise the part labeled A. If part A is too low, SST may be difficult to install. |

(e) Clamp the universal joint spider bearing in a vise and tap off the propeller shaft with a hammer. NOTICE:
Do not tap the shaft tube. HINT:
Use the same removal procedure for the universal joint spider bearing on the opposite side. |
(f) Install the 2 removed universal joint spider bearing to the universal joint spider.

(g) Using SST, push the universal joint spider bearing out of the universal joint flange yoke. SST: 09332-25010 HINT:
Before installing SST, sufficiently raise the part labeled A. If part A is too low, SST may be difficult to install. |

(h) Clamp the universal joint spider bearing in a vise and tap off the universal joint flange yoke with a hammer. |
(i) Remove the universal joint spider.
HINT:
Use the same removal procedure for the universal joint spider on the opposite side.
